What is this?

Humane technology is the application of technological developments to enhance the quality of life in direct and meaningful ways. It seeks to recognize the web of interconnections between people, nature, and technology, and to create thoughtful, adaptive, and aligned solutions that consider their society-wide impacts. Humane technology seeks to create technology that serves our most basic values, improves well-being and environmental sustainability, respects individual autonomy and agency, eliminates bias and competition, while protecting and preserving the planet. In essence, humane technology recognizes that we must be mindful of the technological choices we make and how they will shape our collective future.
